Collectors' catalogue: Mirror No. 4 - Germania 1   www.thonet-antique.de The mirror was manufactured by the "Gebrüder Thonet" and was first seen in the supplement [1905/6] to the Thonet's 1904 catalogue. The mirror is in natural colour, polished and in a perfect original condition. It is a very rare piece and a typical example of furniture designed in the spirit of the Viennese reform movement. The same dressing mirror has been offered as model No. 3 with unadjustable glass. The production amounted to only 31 pieces in 1905 and 34 pieces in 1906 in the Bistritz factory. The dressing mirror had been produced until 1920, so one can estimate the number of the produced pieces, but the number of remaining pieces surely must be smaller.
